The Eye Tribe
The Eye Tribe is a Danish startup company that produces eye tracking technology. The main components of the Eye Tribe tracker is a camera and high-resolution infrared LED, which can easily be set up in a cell phone or mobile device. Eye tracking is the process of using sensors to locate features of the eyes and estimate where someone is looking. This technology relies on infrared illumination and uses advanced mathematical models to determine the point of gaze. Active applications involve device control, for example aiming in games, eye activated login or hands-free typing. Before using the eye tracking device, a calibration is needed in order for the device to find a user’s pupils and identify unique eye characteristics needed, to help enhance the accuracy of tracking one’s gaze.
The Eye Tribe software enables eye control on mobile devices, allows hands free navigation of websites and apps, includes eye activated log in, enhances gaming experiences and cloud based user engagement analytics. The Eye Tribe intends to become the leading provider of eye control technology for mass market consumer devices by licensing the technology to manufacturers.
