Rupi Kaur: A Dose Of Inspiration for Every Women
Many of us don’t know who Rupi Kaur is. Why am I even writing about her? Is she some kind of a celebrity or just someone with a ‘social’ background? Well let’s just say she’s more than ‘just a name.’ She expresses, feels people’s pain and writes it beautifully in her little white papers. Her words are like flowers and knife, it will cut you deep and then shower you with this feeling of inspiration, an impulse spreading from the brain and reaching right to the heart.
The kindest words my father said to me, ‘Women like you drown oceans…’
Rupi Kaur is an artist based on Canada who writes prose, poems and verses. She started reading books from the beginning of her life and believes that books have the ability to pull a person out of the room of reality to the box imaginations. This was her basic dose of inspiration to write. Her words in an interview were :-
I want to put words to the feelings we have trouble putting into words, like the breath before the kiss, I want to make the mundane beautiful.
Her First Book ‘Milk and Honey’ was published in November 2014. It’s a collection of proses and poems divided into four sections and each section has a different purpose. It’s a path which shows the harsh and sweet phases of life but at the end of which you would get a positive feeling. She writes about survival, feminism, lust, love, affection, loss, trauma and healing. Rupi Kaur explains each term with a beautiful feeling which will leave you with the air of wanting more.
Below are some of the best proses from her book:
She says moments, experiences and people’s pain is her biggest inspiration. I would say its not easy to actually feel those pains and frame it into words. She truly is an inspiration to all the women out there who think that ‘being capable’ is an understatement. Let me tell you all, after reading this and many of her other poems you would feel free to express your emotions in front of the mirror well known as The Audience, The People… The Universe.
