New Black Ops 3 Trailer shows us the world after Black Ops 2
A new live-action “Ember” trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 shows the state of the world after Black Ops 2.
The video paints a bleak future where humanity has become too dependant on advanced technology and prosthetics which were hailed as marvels of humankind’s progress before. Advanced prosthetics had put an end to disabilities. Professional athletes augmented their bodies and reached levels of speed and strength normal humans could never achieve.
But, as fiction teaches us, advanced technology inevitably will go wrong. The trailer says as much with its ominous opening quote, “Mankind’s greatest mistake will be its inability to control the technology it has created.”
The footage takes a stark dive, with riots in the streets, and interviews with people denouncing the scientists who “play god” and weaponize humans. The trailer leads up to and ends at 2060, which hints Black Ops III could place at that time.
Activision has confirmed, to no surprise, that Black Ops 3 is coming this year. The publisher is sharing more details about the game on April 26, so stay tuned to TechJunkie for all the big Call of Duty news you need to know.
