Microsoft launches Lumia 640, 640XL in India

At MWC (Mobile World Congress) last month, Microsoft announced the launch of its all new Lumia 640 and 640 XL. These 2 new models will serve as an upgrade to the old Lumia 635.

Lumia 640

The new Lumia 640 having a 5-inch HD screen would be available in single as well as dual SIM. It runs on 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. At launch, it would come with Windows 8.1 operating system while it will get the Windows 10 update thereafter this year. It has a 8MP rear camera with a f2.2 lens, and a selfie camera of 1MP capable of recording videos in HD quality. It comes with 8GB internal storage, with up to 128GB microSD card support and a battery capacity of 2500mAh.

Lumia 640XL

Lumia 640XL on the other hand, has a bigger HD screen of 5.7-inch with 13MP rear camera and a perfect 5MP selfie camera. With the battery capacity of 3000mAh, the phone is said to work for a minimum of 23 hrs easily. The rest of the remaining features are almost as similar as of Lumia 640.

Announcing an offer for a year-long subscription to Office 365 with the two Smartphone, Microsoft along with that is providing its users with another free subscription which could be used on other devices. The company will also provide 60 Skype minutes and 1TB of OneDrive Cloud storage for free with both the handsets.

The Lumia 640 will be exclusively available on Flipkart with a price of Rs.11,999 whereas the slightly – higher end Lumia 640XL of Rs. 15,799 will be available everywhere.
