Samsung S6 and S6 Edge to be released soon
After much speculation, Samsung has finally unveiled its new flagship phones, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Breaking away from the straight and narrow road, SAMSUNG have chosen to go down the Apple-trodden path to release 2 flagships in one go (read iPhone 6 and 6 plus).
A gigantic leap from its previous generation S5, S6 boasts of revolutionary features like wireless charging, a dual “edge” display design (On the S6 Edge), a fingerprint scanner, an all metal and glass body (the S5 was all-plastic), an extraordinary 5.1 inch 2K display (2560 x 1440 pixels at 572 ppi, giving the iPhone a run for its money at 326 dpi), all backed by a 64-bit octa-core (quad-core 2.1GHz+ quad-core 1.5GHz) processor paired with 3GB of RAM (LPDDR4). Add to the mix the price of these handsets, with S6 estimated to carry a starting price tag of Rs. 49,990 and the S6 edge Rs. 58, 900, SAMSUNG is surely stepping up its game this time round to give stiff competition to its fiercest rival Apple, with the iPhone 6 and 6 plus retailing between Rs. 56,000 and Rs. 70,000 (post-budget 2015).
As per Wikipedia, Samsung’s Galaxy S6 is scheduled to be released on 10th April, 2015. The release date of S6 edge is still unsure.
However, SAMSUNG has removed some much desired USP’s from these flagship phones, such as expandable memory and a removable battery, and many pundits are predicting sales taking a hit among ardent SAMSUNG fans.
So will these 2 new offerings soar to heights like the magnanimous S4, or will they stutter and crash to join the likes of the much hyped S5 released last year? For the answer to these questions, we are just going to have to wait.
