WhatsApp rolls out calling feature for all Android users
We’ve heard a lot about WhatsApp’s calling feature lately. It was initially under experiment but was later released. However, the activation didn’t really go well for several users and it looked like the invites had been disabled. Some even suspected that it didn’t support android versions older than v4.4 – Kitkat.
However, today, users in India have started receiving the WhatsApp voice feature without the need for any invitation. To get this feature on your Android smartphone, you need to download the latest version of WhatsApp from Google Play i.e. v2.12.5. If this doesn’t work you can download v2.12.19 from the website. After this, you don’t need any invite to activate voice calling.
You can make a call to anyone on WhatsApp, on a condition that the receiver also has the latest version of WhatsApp installed on his Android device. The voice quality is satisfactory. Also, this service is only for Android users as of now but iOS users can expect the launch of this feature on their device soon.
