Hello – FB’s rival to TrueCaller
There’s a new dialer app in town. What’s so special about it, you ask? Well, it belongs to the Facebook family. Yes, that’s right. Facebook just released a new dialer app by the name – hello. The developers of messenger app are back with a new toy that is all set to replace the dialer app on your android phone.
The app is Android specific only, as of now. The app allows you to make free calls to people over Wi-Fi, using the VoIP. The app uses Facebook extensively to make you well aware of the person that’s calling you, even if you don’t have that number saved on your phone.
Another intuitive feature that the app provides is that you can now search for businesses and people on FB and call them, with just one single tap. You can also block calls easily. Block calls can be viewed later in the recent call log.
With this app, Facebook is trying to change the way we’ll call people; which according to them hasn’t changed since long, says Hello’s Product Manager Andrea Vaccari.
As per now, the app has been launched by Facebook for public testing in the US, Brazil, and Nigeria only. With time, it’ll be launched in other countries too.
